Scottish housing association Castle Rock Edinvar, part of Places for People Group, has appointed Neil Ross as Director of Placemaking Opportunities to spearhead development activity in relation to innovations, partnerships and investment. Based in Edinburgh, Neil takes up the role from his position as Business Development Manager at Places for People Developments.
Commenting on the appointment, Castle Rock Edinvar Managing Director Richard Jennings said:
"I am pleased to welcome Neil to our team. This is an important appointment for us that strengthens our management capabilities and will help in our mission to become Scotland's leading placemaking partner as we continue to expand into new regions across Scotland.
"We have recognised expertise in creating places that work for everyone and our future successes depend on working well with partners, including local authorities and private sector developers, that share our vision.  Neil's vast sector experience, strong network and excellent understanding of placemaking issues is an asset to our business."
In a career spanning over 30 years, Neil has had responsibility for all aspects of the residential development process from site identification through to build completion. With a key focus on collaboration and placemaking he has delivered mixed tenure developments ranging from small scale through to multi-million pound, many of which have received industry recognition.
Neil Ross said: "I'm delighted to join the senior management team in this newly created role to help build strong collaborative partnerships and find new opportunities for our special brand of placemaking north of the border. As a group, Places for People has a focus on driving innovation for the benefit of communities and I will be also working with my colleagues to develop the best ideas for the wider market."
Over the next three years Castle Rock Edinvar will invest over £150 million of capital to deliver almost 2000 new homes across Scotland.
